Pollos Junior Topeka

I went in ordered a full Chicken Chipotle platter. It came with my favorite kind of rice and beans. I can not wait till the summer time where I will be able to eat at their lunch bodega.

I've only been here once, but they sell a roasted chicken with a hot sauce that is crazy hot. It made my face turn red, which is fantastic. Hard to find places that'll sell hot food like this, and I would go back again. The atmosphere is what you'd expect for a small Mexican chicken store, which was kind of quaint and nostalgic in a way.

Wow! So glad I stopped to check this out. This is not fried chicken and not your typical Mexican restaurant, it is exactly what Topeka needed, something a little different. I had the 1/2 order Pollo Chiltepin. This dish has just the right amount of heat if you like spicier food but not so hot it takes over. The flavor was excellent and the chicken was tender and moist. The beans had a great flavor profile, the rice was the only part of the meal that was not exciting. The amount of food was enough that I was able to have some leftovers to add to my lunch the next day. I can't wait to try the Ribs.

Pollos junior is the only restaurant of its kind in Topeka. We ordered a half of the Chiltepin and it was amazing. The chicken has a nice smoked flavor and wasn’t dry at all. The chiltepin sauce has the consistency of a molé but is a spicy peanut sauce, full of flavor. They were however a litrle skimpy with the beans . We had way too much bean broth and not a lot of actual beans. They tasted really good as well.

Phenomenal Grilled chicken. We shared a whole chiltepin chicken. Fantastic chicken and the sauce on it was super tasty with a light spice to it. The order came with sides and more than 2 people could finish. Beware mess from the sauce.

We were at Hummer sports park and needed dinner before a game and we decided to try Polos Junior. The girl at the counter explained the menu to us and we both had a half chicken dinner. I ordered the Polos Macha and the wife ordered the regular chicken and both were delivered to the table quickly. Both plates came with beans and rice and the beans were very good with an excellent flavor and the rice was moist and fluffy. Both plates of chicken were warm and moist and we knew we made a good decision for dinner. I will give a Warning, the Macha is very spicy and hot and you need to be used to very spicy food if you order the Macha. We had an excellent dinner and will definitely be back.

We were craving some chicken so I did a search on Google for recommendations. Decided to give this place a shot and man, I am so happy I did. Since we live out of town I ordered take out and wanted to try a bit of everything so ordered the pollo ranchero, pollo enchipotlado, and pollo chiltepin. All 3 were amazing but the chiltepin was the best by a small margin. My entire family loved the food. The only negative was, the menu says each of our orders were supposed to have beans, but, we didnt receive any. However, the food was so good I didn't spend to much time being upset about the miss. We will definitely eat here again. I highly recommend it.
